We are a Rochester-based nonprofit literacy initiative working to expand access to free books and early literacy resources for children and families. Inspired by public health, child development, and community-based work, our mission is to make reading more accessible, joyful, and inclusive. 

We provide free books, reading guidance, and family-centered literacy support in places where children and caregivers already spend time, including schools, clinics, community spaces, and family programs. We believe every child deserves stories that help them feel seen, supported, and excited to learn.

What you'll do: Help run our events: greet families, help kids pick a book, and share a few simple reading tips with parents. We'll give you everything you need beforehand. 

No experience needed: You don't need a teaching or reading background, just an hour or two and a willingness to talk with families. Come once, or come every month. 

Where you're needed: Events happen at places families already go, community centers, pediatric offices, and neighborhood welcome events around Rochester.
